Thor: Ragnarok released in India today

Thor: Ragnarok is a 2017 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2011's Thor and 2013's Thor: The Dark World and the seventeenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Taika Waititi with a screenplay by Eric Pearson and the writing team of Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins. In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor must escape the alien planet Sakaar in time to save Asgard from Hela and the impending Ragnarök.

Thor: Ragnarok will be longest in the film franchise with a run time of 130 minutes and 21 seconds. According to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), the third sequel in the “Thor” series will not be far behind the likes of Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Captain America: Civil War and The Avengers in terms of time duration. The news comes in after director of the Chris Hemsworth-starrer, Taika Waititi, said back in July that the film would be one of the shortest in the Marvel canon.

Thor: Ragnarok premiered in Los Angeles on October 10, 2017, and was released today in India and United States in 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D. The film received largely positive reviews, with critics praising the direction, performances, the soundtrack and humor, with many critics noting it as the best of the Thor trilogy, and has grossed $109 million worldwide.
